twice now since November, they say its their bank (natwest), is that possible? all my standing orders seem to go through okay.

I'm assuming this is their bank's fault, but who knows! I guess if I didn't check I would be unaware until my account went into the red and they would be better off that month?

Anyway, heads up to landlords to check rent is paid every month!!

Be aware - I had this when I rented out a flat years ago. I couldn't sell it and let it to a couple who needed somewhere to live. In six months I think I had two months rent..... AND they trashed the place before they left. Sold it for a pittance and am now in a HA house.

Just be wary that they are not taking you for a ride.

Banks are useless at standing orders! Most transfers are done by direct debit. I had a loan to buy a car and set up a standing order (as per the finance company) and the first month it was not paid. The first I knew of it was when I got a letter from the finance company (before I had internet banking), so I checked with the bank and they promised me that it would happen the following month. I sent off a cheque and thought that it had been sorted. how wrong I was, it happened again the following month. When I phoned my bank to complain their excuse was that it had been wrongly set up. Fortunately after that kick up the the following months went smoothly. So sometimes it does happen.
Although your tenants might just be having a laugh!

This happened to us in January - tenants have been very reliable for 9 months that they have been there but then their rent didn't arrive. Called them, they said it must be a banking error and paid it in in cash next day. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because (a) it hadn't been a problem before and (b) they sorted it out asap - I guess your tenants' efforts to solve the problem should be the indicator of whether you are being played or not.
