Integrated sodding bins- how much!?

We have a tiny kitchen. Plan was for a cupboard to be used for bins/recycling everything We
wanted this one:
www.howdens.com/product-range/kitchen-collection/accessories/waste-management/large-integrated-recycling-bin/

£250 for a sodding bin! WTF! and googling dont seem to be able to find much cheaper with similar capacity (dont want a tiny bin as its annoying!) Absolutely no space in kitchen for bin to be anywhere else.

Help! Anyone know of any good alternatives?

That is a rather nice neat solution from Howdens isn't it. Can't help re price, sorry, still a fairly bespoke item I fear.

anything on this page?

Maybe something on castors you can wheel in and out from a cupboard space.

scurryfunge · 23/02/2011 19:21

integrated here and cheaper

prettybird · 23/02/2011 19:23

Maybe smaller than you would want? in that you would have to empty them regularly.

Thanks- still struggling to find anything big enough (suspect subtle hint is stop being such rubbish monsters!) but www.fitmykitchen.co.uk/p-1886-kitchen-recycling-euro-cargo-45-waste-bins-70-litres.aspx is an okay option too although still almost £200! Shock. And I thought you brabantia types were nuts!

All my recycling bins are outside at the back door and I just walk stuff straight outside -less junk in the kitchen Grin

Thandeka · 23/02/2011 19:33

The ikea ones are only 4litres each which is nothing plus is just for the bins so would still have to pay for fittings etc. If only ikea did same in 20litres each plus fittings.

(I reckon I need a minimum 30l bin and a couple of 15l for recycling.)

If you have a tiny kitchen I wouldn't waste the limited storage space on recycling. Have a normal built in bin and just go outside to bins.

We are okay for storage as there is a massive larder and lots of cupboards. Issue is no floor space at all to put a bin. So we either leave a cupboard unbuilt and have 600mm free for bins which will be cheap but look soooo messy in our lovely new kitchen or we get some kind of integrated system.
Knowing how we work would be much better to have all bins in one place to be disposed off rather than going outside with a yoghurt pot or whatever. Hmmm I think I am talking self into stupidly expensive bin now aren't I!

Yes you are!.But i know how you feel.I'd be walking outside 20 times daily if i had to go outside with recycling - so i don't.And i end up with an assortment of plastic/glass and compostable waste at the end of every day .I am having large integrated bins in my plan [ but i hope they're not that much!.

4 litres can't be right, I have looked at the Ikea bin units in store and they are plenty spacious. If you search "Rationell+bin" you get a pack that fits in a 60cm unit. brochure page 80

If your kitchen fitter is any good, they will be able to fit a cupboard door onto a deep sided drawer like this, which you could put a selection of bins into. It can't possibly cost £250, that's a rip-off.
