For the vendor to supply a ladder that she has in the shed, for a loft inspection?

DC2 is considering a house purchase, we are involved, have had one viewing and would like another, We consider it to be entirely reasonalbe to ask if there is a ladder on said property, and if so, could we use it for second viewing, ie, look into loft areas? All we have been offered is a 3 ft ladder that would be useless. On our first viewing we saw a much longer ladder in the shed and i have mentioned this to the EA; they will get back to us. I ask this of you ladies, because when we have sold property in the past we have made a ladder whenever possible, available!! As in "being in sales" ifyswim. I started this in "am I being unreasonable", but on second thoughts this is the home for it.

Thanks in advance

The ladder you saw could be broken or dangerous.

The vendor is under no obligation to offer you a ladder. If you want one that much, take one with you.

Yes, good point, i would not consider using a dangerous ladder. Our risk asssessment skills are pretty high, given that our children have achieved adulthood. Hmm

Or, to put it another way, we are proud of our loft and we would want to show it off. As it is an asset.

Ha, ha, it's probably where they've put all the clutter they've spent the past three months getting out of the way in the run-up to putting their house on the market. It will be a treasure trove of Cap de Monte figurines and ride on toys, no wonder they don't want you up there.

We are dreading the no party wall senario, coupled with daylight... experience enyone?
