wooden units with wood look floor?

We have oak look laminate on floor which will stay. We are changing doors of units and have been offered some ex-display which are a massive bargain. However we have a choice of 3 styles, all different shades of wood. Does anyone have wooden floor with wooden units? Does it look ok or too much. Would have plain white worksurface on top. If looks ok is it better to try to contrast wood or try to match?

I think it could look a bit much. As you are getting such a massive bargain, could you afford to change the flooring at the same time?

No chance of changing flooring. Any other opinions?

Contrast.

We have very dark wood floor and very pale wood units.

It looks lovely.

I think you need to consider how much light is coming into the room and what effect it has.

Our room is quite dark so the dark floor just blends while the units brighten and lighten and warm it up.

Add different textured tiles and bright colours.

That's more what I want to hear! Room quite light, could maybe paint plinth light/cream. Do you think it's best to contrast with diff woods or try to match as close as possib;e?

Don't try to match.

It never works (have you ever tried to find 2 navy blues that are the same?).

Ours are completely different.

We also have an oak sideboard and oak dining table and chairs. Another type and colour of wood. Lighter than the floor but darker than the units. These are in the lightest part of the room (the diner bit).

wouldn't fret too much about diff/same woods

create intersst with fab handles ,diff plinth , colour in other things like accessories /blinds etc

I had oak floors and oak door fronts in my last kitchen and it looked really nice. They didn't match exactly but I really like oak. Also had brushed steel handles and a really light worktop
