anyone had patio doors fitted in a bay window? How much?

We are looking to replace the patio doors and bay windows that currently look out onto our back garden. The wood is rotting so want to go for Upvc which would match the rest of the windows in the house.

It's an average 3 bed semi if you can picture the shape and size of the bay. So - a set of patio doors and a bay window either side.

I have no idea what this would cost. Has anyone had something like this done recently, ,or know roughly what it would cost?

Thanks

Hmmmm well we've just replaced our patio doors (1930s bog standard semi) and they have a window either side, but it's not a bay window as such. It was £1300 total including fitting and mending the pebbledash outside etc.

Shock emsyj!!! Bloody hell, didn't know it would be that much - was that the cheapest you were quoted? Ideally we would like an extension on the back but just can't afford it so thought that getting the patio looking all nice would be a cheaper alternative.

We only got one quote as we wanted to use a particular company to do it - they did my PILS house and the whole of my mum's (much larger) house. My mum is a dreadful customer and complains about everything but thought this company were wonderful - this is the highest compliment possible. They even did her a double glazed stained glass unit for the same price as a plain window all in the right pattern and colours to replace a big window she's got on her landing as she refused to pay the extra for the colours etc and they said they couldn't in good conscience just whip out such a lovely window and put an ugly plain obscured glass one in.

Sorry to dribble on - we just wanted to use them as we knew they wouldn't cause us any hassle, altho their prices are fairly keen - my mum got several quotes and they weren't the cheapest but not the dearest either. Suspect you would struggle to do it for less than £1k. I have the details from the fitter who put them in if you're in the north west - he does fitting independently as well as through this company and it's a bit cheaper that way, and he uses their windows. He did another window for us that was broken (lock broke so it wouldn't open) and did a nice job.

Funnily enough, I AM in the northwest - Liverpool to be precise. To be honest, though, I didnt think it would cost a grand, not sure we could afford it at the moment....

Grin at your fussy mum!

Oh we're on the Wirral. Private mail me if you want the guy's number. The company is Wholesale Windows in Bromborough.

My mum is a TERROR - would never want to do any work for her! (shudder)
