We are having an extension which will house part of our new kitchen.

Our budget is around £10k, plus appliances, worktops, flooring.

Where are the good places to start ? Had a quote for £11k from Wickes, currently waiting for a quote from Howdens & Magnet.

Nothing fits the bill in B&Q, but thinking of having look at Homebase.

Any recommendations ? Am after painted wood, shaker & granite worksurfaces.

Highly recommend Miele dishwasher if you are doing a live in kitchen. It is virtually silent. Also recommend getting a waste disposal unit and a bin in a cupboard. I wanted neither but my kitchen designer insisted I needed them. He was absolutely right.

Lots of drawers is good too.

We are getting a waste disposal. Am a bit concerned though. We had one in a previous house and DH got very excited when he realised it took bones. If I disappear check the waste disposal unit!!! Grin

Interesting about the Miele dishwasher being so quiet. Will bear that in mind when DH tells me it is to expensive!
