How long does it take an EA to list a property?

We've just changed estate agents. We were on the market with an internet agent and although Iw as pleased with the photographs, floorplan etc, an online EA doesn't "push" your property.

Last wednesday we signed up with a local EA who has been very keen to market our property since comeing out to value in at the beginning of August. While he was walking around the house, I was busy e-mailing him our photographs and floorplans that the online EA had drawn up because I've asked permission and he's able to use those.

As he left, he said he would e-mail me the finished details for approval. TBH, the description that's already online is very comprehensive so I can't see there's actually much work for this new EA to do in order to produce marketing details.

That was last Wednesday. It's now Monday and they still haven't been in touch. We're still on rightmove under the online EA but not the high street EA. We've found a house we'd like to buy and we want to get moving before somebody beats us to it. I'd really like it if they could start to market our property and get us some viewers - I realise this is a bad time of year - but shouldn't we be on the market with them by now??

Sorry have you sold a property before? You need to hassle EAs - have you had any viewings with them yet? I would have rung up on Friday and said what viewings have you got booked for saturday?

Phone Phone Phone Hassle Hassle Hassle

Given already given all the details on email you need a very good explanation about why there are not on the internet.

sold before, yes, but it only took a fortnight and it was before the days of the internet.

Looks like hassle is the way to go

Yes, hassle them. Goodness, you would think they would be keen to get it up and running!!

I rang them. They gave no explanation, just said they would email me the details this afternoon, that the details were ready

I should think they are ready!

Close of business - no email. No details.

What possible reason could there be for this? Like someone said, you'd have thought they would be keen.

The EA rang me to get my business - now I can't get them to list the bloody property!

Ring them tomorrow and say you will appoint another estate agent if they don't get their finger out - although I have to say it doesn't look good.

Tell them that unless they get a move on you will go elsewhere (have you signed anything yet?)
