What type of flooring is best for a family bathroom? Should I avoid tiles because of discolouring grouting? Is Lino naff?

Proper lino, ie Marmoleum.
Its warm, easy to clean, comes in lots of colours, it's a natural product and far nicer to walk on than tiles.

We've just had Amtico put down in ours (It's a sort of vinyl flooring). We love it.

What style amtico did you go for? I am thinking the lino/ amtico route might be easier for cleaning. The warmness is a good point. Anyone had rubber flooring?

We had the Amtico Spacia (I think) in a dark wood look. We have wooden floors downstairs, and will, eventually, have carpet upstairs. It looks really good and cleans brilliantly.

We had rubber flooring in our old kitchen we looked fantastic the moment you washed it, but very, very quickly looked grubby. It also marked badly if you dropped anything. It didn't help when a friend of ours walked on it in stilleto heels when it was almost brand new and left circular indents all over it. I was livid!

We just got luverly new Marmoleum like Pannacotta suggests. (In fact, maybe she suggested it to me.) It's a lovely deep green. Since it's brand new I can't comment on how it lasts but so far we're very chuffed.

I would def recommend Forbo Nairn Marmoleum flooring, the dual tile range is available in 2 sizes 35 x 35 or 50 x 50cm, excellent quality, warm, natural material. Had it in my kitchen for years. Only disadvantage as with all flooring & tiles if you ever need to replace a damaged one some colours are discontinued after time, keep a few spare just in case. Also I was recommended to use John Lewis to supply & fit, very reasonable prices and excellent service.

Ahhh, this is interesting as we need to buy some bathroom flooring, which is affordable (!), looks good and is practical. I don't want to spend every day cleaning it.
