Very long story, but the short version is we have the chance of living in the area we like (close to my work, fab nursary, 2 mins from my Mum who is retired and desperate to babysit DD while I return to work full time) rent free for 6 months. We have got our house on the market but it isn't shifting.

However, the house is very small, although the rooms are big, if that makes sense! Just kitchen, bathroom, livingroom and one bedroom.

DD is 8 months and used to staying in her own room.

Would be no problem to fit in DD's cot and our bed, wardrobes etc but how do you think we would get on sharing? Would we be falling over each other? Storage ideas? What else do I need to think about? My head is spinning. Don't know what to do. :(

honestly, i think it will be fine- does she sleep soundly in any event?

i had friends who shared with their dd due to circs until she was around 2. They got a fold away screen that they popped around the cot so they could have bedside lamps etc on.

or could you do a similar thing in the lounge?

would work out exactly what you need to take- you could for example stash summer clothes elsewhere (loft, mums etc).

definately doable- if its rent free you have nothing to lose surely?

She is a fantastic sleeper 12 hours a night since 6 weeks without fail (yes I know how lucky I am!). For the last month she has done 14 hours every night! I don't want to spoil this. Screens are an interesting idea, will look into that. OH starts work at 4am so scared he will wake her.

Would be able to leave things in our house (as long as it doesn't sell, which isn't looking likely).

Does anyone know if I am right in thinking we wouldn't need to pay council tax here if property is empty?
