Toilet Seat Fitting Query

I bought a cheap wooden loo seat almost a year ago and had to keep on removing it and tightening up the screws that go into the spindles. Anyway, I got fed up with doing it and also with the colour as it totally clashed with the bathroom, so I replaced it 5 days ago...more expensive and better quality fittings; sorted me thinks ~ nope! the same problem is happening with this one!

My question is this: Does anyone know how I can stop this occuring please? what can I use to make the screws grip inside the spindles?

TIA.

I had the same problem (don't we all!) I just squirted a little superglue in the hole then put the screws back in. I think you're supposed to use something like Loctite (?) though, especially if you want to undo the screws later.

Great! thank you.

I was wondering about Plumbers Mait. Any thoughts on that?

You need to use a threadlocker (various manufacturers including Loctite) It is a non permanent adhesive just for this sort of application
