My builder has scratched the wooden floor he has laid and also put the lock on the door wrong so there is big of cut above the lock...

We have scratched the floor before and asked to lay it again so he has charged us extra £60 for it. Should I ask him to fix three planks (it's click clack) where he has scratched it - it's quite a deep scratch done with very heavy item.

I'm very not happy with his work..

Have you paid him yet? If not, withhold payment until the problems are fixed.

And he shouldn't be charging you for his mistakes.

Yes ask him to put it right before you pay him.I have had a few cases of this atm where builders carelessness has caused things to need re done.So cross but I didn't pay them and one guy worked for nothing at the weekend to put it right! He really wasted a lot of his own time by being shoddy in teh 1st place.it is difficult to approach then=m but they are getting paid by you and you deserve a good job

well no. I think first time we scratched it so he asked to be paid to relay the floor. This time it's his fault but I don't think he is going to lay it again so I'm thinking that maybe I don't give him the &60, just the original fee....and to make the door look decent. I understand mistakes happen, but I don't like my floors scratched....won't be hiring him again ever.
