Colour advice - bathroom

We're trying to doll up our house a bit to make it look presentable on the market.

Our bathroom hasn't been touched by us at all. It's walls are currently this colour. Appropriately called Waiting Room Green although I think it looks more like a prison toilet green.

It's got white tiles with some horrid green leaf design on it around the bath, in the shower cabinet and splashback for the sink.

We're not changing anything apart from the paint on the walls. The woodwork will be refreshed with white paint.

What colour do you think would look nice? Another greeny like this one? Or another or a different colour all together?

Please help!

I quite like that green - what is the flooring like? But, I'd say, if the tiles are a bit old and naff, I'd be tempted to leave it all and just give it a good clean. It's still going to look tired even with new paint. Sorry.

i would paint the walls white - people buying houses tend to prefer white bathrooms because they come across as clean, light and larger. Its also a blank canvas... if you choose a colour, most people are going to want to change it again anyway!!
good luck with selling your house :)

Well, I did think paint it white but thought it would be like a cold cell.

Is white not a bit cold?

Maybe those tinted whites like tin white or jade white?

It's clean as it's ever going to be right now but it still looks a bit studenty with green carpet Hmm. I've been a bit daunted by what to do with it so I've just left it.

Change the flooring - no-one likes carpet in the bathroom and a piece of vinyl will not cost very much. I agree that white and white looks cold (and might just make oldish tiles look a bit grubby). Get some nice towels to fold over the rail or radiator or whatever is in there.

I agree, new flooring will make the biggest difference. I quite like the wall colour! Shiny taps and fluffy towels and a clean smell will also help...

I don't think the green is too bad either (lived with an orange bathroom with stenciled green vines for a while!!) but I guess it depends on how much light comes in to how it really looks in the bathroom.
I'd go with swapping the carpet for some decent vinyl but maybe a tinted white would work. Buyers often like being able to change the bathroom so I wouldn't worry too much. It can be the "lots of potential to have it how you want" room!

It seems that I have a very similar bath - similarly green walls, now redoing tiling around bath/sink to white and floor to grey tiles. I am leaving green walls as it is, because it is not too bad, but if I will want more "luxury" view I would paint in light warm grey, so would have grey/white colour scheme. Some "posh" IKEA bits (vases, candles, towels) and I believe it would look nice even if on low cost budget.
I agree you must get rid of the carpet!
