Showering bath or normal straight bath?

About to refit a bathroom and I am undecided. We have opted not to have a separate shower as I think the room will be too cramped. Could have one, an 800 quadrant.

Would love to know your experiences and thoughts. Do you think the bulbous showering bath is better than having a shower over a normal straight sided bath?

Initially I was thinking a showering bath but now I'm not so sure. This bathroom will be used mainly by the DCs and any guests.

I will use the bath to have a soak (ha ha when does that happen) so I'm not sure if the showering bath soak will be as nice.

Or indeed, do you think it is better to go with a separate shower, albeit a small one?

Thanks.

It would help to know how big your bathroom is. If you decide to go for the bath only option bear in mind when you're looking that some baths are not recommended for showering - the bases aren't strong enough to have someone (possibly a heavy someone) standing in the same place day after day.

Do you have anotehr bathroom with a shower?

I don't particularly like the look of shower baths, I must say. Pure aesthetics-based view only

We have just redone our small bathroom and had the same discussions. Ended up with a wet room shower and one of those short deep baths. It's fantastic, we are really chuffed with it. Is a wet room an option?

Thanks for this, some food for thought. I think I will post tomorrow (had too much limoncello tonight Blush) details of dimensions etc. I'm going round in ever decreasing circles.

I don't like the aesthetics of shower bath either. I get the function bit but not keen on the form. Wet room would be fab but don't think budget will stretch that far (loads to do in house).

We will have another large shower.

I wouldn't buy a house that didn't have a bath that I could lie in and have a good soak, and I suspect that not having a proper full length bath might put off other buyers as well. I would go for a full length bath that is strong enough to support an adult taking a shower.
