What kind of bath?

What kind of bath have you got and is it good? I have a bathroom to do and no idea what to buy. In my last house I had an antique iron bath but very sadly had to leave it.
My budget is fairly rubbish and I have seen plastic roll tops, shower baths (will not be having a cubicle - tiny room), steel baths and new cast iron - which would you pick?

Don't have a shower bath - hideous shape and rubbish for having baths in (too wide and shallow!) - there was one in our last house which I took great pleasure in ripping out. Plenty of room in a normal tub for a shower...recommend plain straight and double ended so no one gets the taps! I've had a resin freestanding roll top but wouldn't do that again - too deep and difficult to get in and out of - although I was pregnant for most of the time we had it so that may explain that one !

Would avoid acrylic if you can. I like Kaldewei plain steel baths as there's a really good range of sizes. I also think Bathstore's pretty good hunting ground overall - I've done 5 bath/shower/cloak rooms with Bathstore stuff ( not all in the same house!) and been happy with them.

Second the straight sided bath - we got an 800 wide rather than the standard 700 and it's great. Wouldn't go double ended though as they're so steep ended that it's not comfy to lie in on your own! Can get wall mounted taps with single ended bath and the person at the straight end just has the overflow to deal with Grin.

I thought Travis Perkins had a better range to choose from than Bathstore.
