Blue paint for a north-facing room?

My son wants his new room to be pale blue, but it's north-facing and I'm concerned that it might feel cold. So - can a blue ever feel warm, or at least not cold? I like the look of Farrow and Ball Borrowed Light, but it looks very pale on the card. A duckegg might work - does anyone know any good ones, or have other suggestions?

Hmmm - blue paint seems to be a bit of a non-starter, conversation-wise. A small bump at this unsociable hour, tho, just in case...

I wouldnt have blue paint in a North facing room, far too chilly.

Can you give him blue bedding or curtains instead, combined with a warmer wall colour?

Hello!!
My DS has a north facing blue room and it is quite a deep colour. I am thinking it was called fisherman blue, but I might be making that up. He also has a navy ceiling ( that's what he really wanted) It is not cold at all! I think paler colours feel colder maybe?
His woodwork is White and the carpet is a pale grey.

I think you can with the right sort of blue. So, a more petrol sort of blue or something with more of a leaning towards green.

You could make it nautical and include red perhaps?

DH agrees it is fisherman blue - it is a deeper colour than cornflower blue. It is a big room and has white painted windows all along one side and tall White bookcases along another side.

Go for it we say!

Boys small north facing room ( in last house) was blue, but a warm blue IYSWIM. Quite a deep blue, figured that nothing would make the room look light so we might as well make it cozy.
was finished with white woodwork and had a raspberry pink carpet.

Thank you all! Will look out for fisherman's blue and greenish shades, and also try strong rather than pale blues. Red and blue is a good idea, too. I would happily go for a warmer colour, but he has his heart set on blue...
