got loads of kids clothes, whats the best bet? have found recently ebay a bit of a pain and there fees a lot. Considering doing nct nearly new sale, but they also take big percent. or mums net, have bought few things and found it very good, what do you lot think?

Netmums seems good

You can post locally and there's no listing fee

Netmums is probably more local which saves on postage, agreed, but Mumsnet has a better clientele base .

NCT don't take big percent, usually you pay a one off setup fee, like a carboot sale - if you've got loads it's probably a good way of getting rid as saves posting stuff BUT things don't often sell for LOTS of money, NCT buyers are out for a bargain. Search the MN archive for how to sell at an NCT sale.

If you have "designer/branded" items go with eBay

I have done the NCT sale 3 times now and also, they take a 30% cut of what you have made. Not bad when getting rid of loads of stuff.

Have made a few hundred pounds each time but then again, I have 6 years of baby stuff to get rid off and its so good to get rid of all the big plastic toys stuff. Withthe clothes, I tend to bundle them all and they sell for hardly anything at all but at least you get back something rather than nothing if given to a charity shop.

Toys and books always goes well. Clothes quite hard to so as you can only sell 30 items lot in total for clothing, I tend to put 2-3 outfits together or say maybe 4 dresses and sell for £7.00. (4 dresses being 1 item lot). That way, you get rid of lots more clothing especially if you have a lot to get rid of and wouldn't mind something better than nothing in return. At least no postage/fees to pay except the 30%. Also, note that NCT clothing only goes up to age 6 or 7.

In my experience, the Next , M & S goes so fast and the branded like Boden, etc not so. I imagine the type of people that goes to the NCT wants bargains but most probably heard of Next but not Boden. The branded do better on Ebay.

If you go for NCT you would be better off looking for a table-top sale. With these you just pay £10 for a table and you keep all the money you take. I did one with my sister and so it only cost us £5 each. It was good fun!
