I hate Ikea (the whole experience) but it does sell ok to good quality furniture and i do like their prices.

duckyfuzz · 11/01/2009 18:59

ikea gets my vote too, we have their aneboda wardrobes and chest of drawers for DTs, have lasted 5 years so far - not bad for the price!

surprisenumber3 · 11/01/2009 19:01

thank you - will have a look on their site now!

ONline would be a good option as whenever DH and I go we always fall out!! I find it quite stressful.

duckyfuzz · 11/01/2009 19:04

snag is, they charge a fortune for delivery. Last time we got stuff there we browsed online, chose what we wanted then DH went with a list at about 8pm one night and got it, store was empty

pamelat · 11/01/2009 19:16

Ah yes go at night, we always went on a saturday afternoon with all of the other crazy people.

The meatballs are nice in their restaurant

surprisenumber3,
i looked at this thread as i am in the process of sorting out ds bedroom(needs a big boy bed and furniture)
we have a lovely john lewis cot bed and pine wardrobe and set of drawers if you are interested?
don't want much for them and would depend on where you live/courier charges etc

surprisenumber3 · 11/01/2009 19:27

hi chatee

the items are still available, if surprise doesn't want them (i don't want to get shouted out for selling things on the wrong board)and i will give her first choice until the week end, then will offer to your friend SillyMillysMummy.
they are really nice pieces of furniture but now sadly outgrown

ramonaquimby · 13/01/2009 13:15

argos (surprisingly) has some nice bunkbeds, white stain

ThingOne · 13/01/2009 13:39

Ikea is good. The way to avoid arguments and child boredom is to decide what you want on line. write it all down - name, number, how many you want. Arrive early on Saturday morning (assuming you can't go in week). Buy and go through tills before they get busy and then feed children cheap crap food in restaurant.

surprisenumber3 · 15/01/2009 11:15

hi chatee - I'm not north at all

Never mind, thanks loads for the offer, hope sillymillysmummy's friend can use them

Thanks for the all the replies too, am going to Ikea on Saturday!
