hi,
i booked a free flight yesterday evening and there were still loads left. somehow, my eco aversion to flying got killed off by the concept of totally free.
usually you have to pay a £4.00 debit card charge. but i have a visa electron which means its free.
also, check details carefully, they try to add in insurance and baggage etc. to make it cost.
but if you do it right its totally free, no airport taxes or anything either.

where you going maebee?

i did free flights with them in oct, but ended up paying about £80 in taxes for 2 people, well that included also a checked in suitcae. it was still bargainous tho. I went to spain to see mum.

just to girona. but yep, got it totally free, not checking in baggage or anything, just taking hand luggage.

I can only get them with added taxes etc, not totally free? How did you manage that?

2point4kids · 19/11/2008 14:45

surely you still have to pay taxes even if the flights are free?

MaeBee · 19/11/2008 15:13

no didn't have to pay taxes.
they do two offers, one is a 'regular price' where you have to pay taxes, one is 'special offer' where you don't. you have to be pretty flexible on dates, obviously, but if you keep clicking 'next day' until you find one that says: special offer: £0.00. for the outgoing and the incoming trip. then it takes you to the next page where it tries to charge you for baggage and stuff. you have to click 'no baggage and online booking'. you also have to say no travel insurance.
then you should get it free!
if its NOT an electron card, but a normal debit card you will be charged £4.00 for booking fees.
good luck!

how did you get the free flights? what promotion is it?

moneysavingmartin forum. It actually costs 1p per person (so not free, LOL) as long as you don't check bags & do pay with electron. Book by Friday & travel before Feb 12
