when you've all stopped laughing hysterically as i am obviously the only person in the world who doesn't get it?

i mostly tesco shop online, though i do have a nifty little card-y thing on my keyring that i flash at my local tesco metro.

so i have points somewhere but where? how do i claim them? what can i do with them?

(should've namechanged for this one, huh? )

I only discovered this myself a onth or so ago and have just cashed my 2.50 one in for a tenner of at pizza hut

Pinions · 19/09/2008 19:32

Noblesse - if it helps I don't get them either.

Think "deals" is the buzzword ?????????????

And yes depending on who you get the tesco call centres are pretty abrupt and useless.

hughjarssss · 19/09/2008 19:33

I just looked at that web page and £8 worth of points will buy one adult ticket to chessington - that is impressive.

Fingers crossed you will get your vouchers NoblesseOblige

NoblesseOblige · 19/09/2008 19:35

ok am ringing them again...

(and having a glass of wine afterward)

You need to ring them up - explain that you have been shopping with tesco for years and years and that there are loads of points and vouchers hiding somewhere.

They will match up any other clubcards etc that you may have a you will probably have a nice tidy stack of vouchers.

NoblesseOblige · 19/09/2008 19:44

oh bless i spoke to a much lovelier lady who says i have about £10 worth of something...so does that mean i have £40 to use on deals?? yes? no?

and it will arrive in november when they send them out again!

i think i am getting it now...

Right....I am connfused so I am sure you are.

  1. check that your Tesco Online account is linked to the clubcard number on your keyring. If not update it. Make sure it is registered to your address. If you have a different number linked to your online shopping ring them and ask if you can link the 2 accounts into 1.
  1. Every quarter you will get a "clubcard statement". This will contain 2 things. Pink and blue vouchers (6 to a page) which say 50 points when you spend £2.00 on bread. or 25 points when you spend £1.50 on frozen produce etc. Use these as this is all you can do with these. You either get these as a voucher or an eCoupon. If you shop online they will be better as "eCoupons" where you can put in a code to get the points/discount when you checkout online. If they are no eCoupons you can chnage your online account to make them "eCoupons" in future. Else you have to use them instore.
  1. Also in the mailing will be 3 dark blue "clubcard vouchers" which have a cash value on. These are teh ones which you can trade for 4 value. They are valid for 2 years so you can save them until you have enough for a day out or magazine subscription, RAC membership etc. DO NOT SPEND THESE ON SHOPPING as they are worth 4 more on other things.
  1. Sometimes you get a voucher spat out at the checkout when you are instore. This will be for 50points when you buy tampax. Or 25p off fruit shoots.

Tis number 3 that is important. You get 1 point for every £1 you spend and 100 points is worth £1 in clubcard vouchers or £4 indeals.

Trafficcone · 19/09/2008 20:05

Loving this thread as I've never understood the club card! I've gasp always thrown my vouchers away as I just never remembered to take them shopping with me... so could I ring Tescos up and get the value of those vouchers in deals? They can tell I never cashed them right?

hughjarssss · 19/09/2008 20:42

Laziness Squirrels. Pure and Simple Laziness.

I shop online and occasionally pop into store where they ask me if I have a card, I normally say no.
Once I did say that I shopped online and collected points that way. I got a very confused answer about merging cards so I just left it.

I also looked online to check points but I seemed to have hardly any which didnt make sense.
Nor does the fact that I dont recieve vouchers in the post.

Tis all very confusing for me

RandomIdiot · 19/09/2008 20:49

aparently you can claim unused vouchers

Try giving them a call and explain. Tell them that you have never recieved any couchers in teh post.

Just ring them to merge cards. Decide which one to use and throw the other details away. We had to merge 2 cards when we got a Tesco Credit card (which incidently how we collect half our points...which is a story for another day). You just rng them. Explain you have 2 cards. The cancel 1 and transfer the points to the other. Juts make sure you use the correct card from then on.
