Anyone got a Pronteau tap? Worth it or just a fancy extra?

Has anyone here actually bought a Pronteau tap? I keep seeing them pop up and they do look really handy – instant hot water sounds like such a dream, especially when you’re constantly making tea or trying to speed through cooking.
Thing is, they’re not cheap. I’ve been trying to cut back on spending lately, so I’m a bit hesitant to splash out unless it’s genuinely worth it. Do they ever do discounts or sales? Or maybe there’s a cheaper way to get one installed?
Would love to hear if anyone’s tried it and what you think – trying to decide if it’s a sensible buy or just another gadget I’ll regret later

Got one about six months ago, and honestly, it’s been pretty handy — especially if you’re always boiling kettles or cooking a lot. The instant hot water part really does what it says, and it’s surprisingly energy-efficient once you get used to it.
That said, I wouldn’t have paid full price for it. They do go on sale now and then — I actually found a decent discount here: https://uk.hotdeals.com/brands/pronteau-discount-codes. If you’re patient, it’s worth waiting for one of those deals because the savings can be quite good.
Installation was easy enough (just make sure your plumber’s familiar with boiling-water taps). If you’re a big tea or coffee drinker, you’ll probably love it; otherwise, it’s more of a “nice to have” than a must-have.

We’ve got one, had it about a year now. Honestly, it’s nice but definitely not essential. The instant hot water is handy for tea and cooking, but you do have to descale it quite often if you live in a hard water area. The tank also takes up a fair bit of cupboard space, which I didn’t really think about before.
It’s been reliable though, no leaks or issues so far. I’d say if you use the kettle a lot and hate waiting, you’ll probably love it — but if you’re watching spending, it’s more of a luxury than a necessity. Maybe keep an eye out for Black Friday deals, they do get discounted sometimes.

I don’t own one, but my sister had a Pronteau tap installed last year and I’ve used it at her place quite a few times. It’s genuinely convenient — instant hot water for tea, cooking and bottles, and it keeps the kitchen looking tidier without the kettle. But I’d say it’s more of a luxury than a necessity. You also have to factor in installation and ongoing filter costs, so it’s not a money-saver, just a time-saver. If you’ll use it constantly, it’s worth considering; if you’re unsure, I’d probably wait.

I’ve got a Pronteau tap, and it’s definitely convenient — instant hot water is great for tea and cooking — but it’s a pricey upgrade once you factor in installation and filter changes. It works well, but if you’re on a budget, a good kettle does almost the same job for a fraction of the cost. I’d say it’s nice to have, not a must-have.
