Shopping through cashback websites..

I think it is a great way to earn extra cash, from buying things you would normally buy.

I have earned nearly £100 cashback this year. Most of which comes from Boden Blush

There are especially good cashback rates for insurance policies on Topcashback - £60 for Sheila's Wheels car insurance. Plus right now Tesco are offering £10 bonus cashback for new customers.
I prefer Topcashback because unlike many cashback sites, they don't charge any admin fees.

If you haven't already signed-up, I really recommend it:

With this link I can earn £1

With this link I earn nothing

How can you reclaim/spend the cashback iyswim? Is it straight forward? I never seem to have enough time to look into it. the sum you have accumulated is impressiveWink

TrillianAstra · 11/08/2010 18:41

It accumulates and at any point (even for £1 I think) you click and tell them your bank details and they put it into your bank. Easy peasy.

ruddynorah · 11/08/2010 18:48

i get a fair bit through quidco. i got £65 for a new phone contract, and £35 for a new home insurance contract, oh and £3 (!) for using their link to recycle my old mobile..which gave me another £30! free money basically!

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 11/08/2010 21:21

Hi joymaker - When your cashback has been validated and paid for by the merchant (usually within a month), you can claim the money either through Paypal, BACS or a cheque :)
It took me a couple of weeks to 'trust' the system enough to input my Bank details, but that is the easiest way to claim.

You can even earn cashback by searching for insurance quotes through Topcashback and taking part in surveys, so-called 'no-spend cashback'.

Do take a moment to sign-up (it really is quite straight-forward). You'll thank me for it later when you receive your first cashback payment :o

I use rpoints and always cash it in just before xmas.

FanjolinaJolie · 13/08/2010 21:30

I have been using Topcashback for about a year. It is excellent and I have had over £200 now which has all been banked into my account by BACS. Brilliant.

Ponders · 13/08/2010 21:37

I got £150 last year on 2 car insurance policies & home insurance - & they were good prices anyway, much cheaper than previous year!

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 15/08/2010 00:01

Cashback rates are especially good for insurance policies. For my summer holiday travel insurance (booked with Essential Travel), I received 17% cashback.

Forgot to mention earlier that for every £10 in cashback you earn in a calendar month, Topcashback will pay you an extra 1% cashback for all transactions the following month (up to a maximum of 10%).

I always check if I can get 'cashback' on Quidco before I buy anything.
It soon adds up...

MNTotoro · 17/08/2010 09:53

quidco is great.

Ponders · 17/08/2010 19:55

quidco is great but they pissed me off mightily today.

I went to an actual Staples shop Shock with DS2 to buy back-to-college stationery, plus a new computer chair, & spent over £80 - got back to an email from quidco (it really wasn't there before we went out) about the half-price back-to-school offers at Staples with free next-day delivery AND 8% cashback...

[cries]

(OTOH it is nice sometimes to actually pick things up & look at them & then decide; & also DS2 will never look with me online for longer than oooh, about 25 seconds, before wandering off to do something more interesting & having to be yelled back; & we also went to TKMaxx & found him a brilliant bag; so I guess all of that was worth 8% of £80-odd Grin)

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 17/08/2010 23:11

I used to use Quidco (for about 2 years), but they charge an annual fee of £5.
So I switched to Topcashback, who do not charge admin fees.

Ponders - Yikes... just checked and Staples have 10% cashback on Topcashback Shock
But I do prefer to take the DCs to an actual shop to buy back-to-school supplies. Makes my life easier, and they love it. :o

I've joined through your link. I am off to try to buy one of those micro scooter thingys. Here goes...

Imadaddy · 18/08/2010 14:01

Cashback is fantastic! I have earned just over £50 so far and raised money for the charity I support too. There are no fees with this one and you get a £2.50 bonus just for signing up! It also includes cashback for shopping in certain stores actually in store. My family love it!

If you use this link, I get £1 and my charity will get £1.

Take a look, you won't be disappointed.

Imadaddy · 18/08/2010 14:07

Sorry, I hadn't read how to add a proper link!

Should have said:

Follow this link and I earn £1

Follow this link and I earn nothing

Cheers!

WearingaSunhat · 18/08/2010 15:14

Was there a need to follow this up by spamming creating 4 separate threads about your cashback website? Once is enough thanks Hmm

Imadaddy · 18/08/2010 17:17

I thought the idea of a forum about discounts and vouchers was to share knowledge of offers that you come across? Apologies if spamming creating 4 threads is excessive, no offence intended. :)

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 19/08/2010 12:01

Thanks Imadaddy for your links.

Though it says you get £2 for refering a friend?

Also the cashback rates are very low, ie 2.75% for Boden, whereas Quidco and Topcashback offer 5.5% cashback.

On Topcashback there is a direct link for you to pay cashback to your chosen charity: Barnados, Oxfam, Royal British Legion etc.
Sometimes I chose to donate some of my cashback to charities at Christmas.

OP posts:
amidaiwish · 19/08/2010 12:09

the problem i find with a lot of these cashback websites is that the cashback % is less than a promo % available.
like Boden, i always have at least a 15% off code. but you can't use the promo code and the cashback code...

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 19/08/2010 13:18

That's true amidaiwish.
But actually, for most of this year, the Boden cashback did work with the £10 off £30 code. I would just change the promo code back to XNHT in my shopping basket. They seemed to have fixed that glitch now though :(
It's still possible to get cashback when buying Boden during the sales, more often than not my cashback offsets the £4 delivery charge :)

Sometimes Topcashback offer promo codes that can be used in conjunction with cashback. Once they had a 20% off code for Boden. You can get advance notice of these offers if you subscribe to their newsletter.
I'll post here next time Topcashback offer Boden codes that can be used with cashback.

OP posts:
amidaiwish · 19/08/2010 13:28

i NEVER pay for delivery or returns. i have looked at it, it's never been a better offer than using the promo code direct on the site. but will see what you come up with!

EasterEggHuntIsOver · 19/08/2010 18:02

I always save up Boden's free returns labels for use during the sale to send stuff back.
