Oxfordshire private options, 3 children family

We are due to move to the Oxfordshire area, have 3 children - DD, DS and DD all in primary and 3 year groups apart (reception, year 3 and year 6)

We'd like to buy a house nearest to where eldest DD will go to secondary but with all the changes to coed, merges and shut downs I am finding it hard to navigate how to assess the secondary offerings. Most no longer offer sibling discounts either from what I could find. Not a deal-breaker.

DD is great at History and English Lit. Enjoys Computing, Art and Design Tech. Science and Maths are strong but not favourite subjects. She is not very sporty.

DS hard to tell yet but loves English Lit, Maths, Science, Computing, good at sports and plays chess.

Do any secondaries jump out from what I've shared? Thanks

Dragon then onto Teddies. The roads around Dragon are beautiful. Both fabulous schools & established co-eds the ones that are changing to co-ed will take ages to really be 50/50. Oxford schools are great but you need to live in the city to avoid the school run traffic.

I agree with above. No sign of either of those merging or closing any time soon and established for a very long time. Great options and tried and tested.

Or Cokethorpe which is also co ed and has been established for a long time and goes all the way through to 18 too.

Do you want co ed? If not then Manor prep (Abingdon)and SHSK for your daughter and possibly Abingdon for your son? Although Abingdon will be a bit of a mess whilst they transition to co ed.

Magdalene College is also going co-ed. Not sure which parts currently have girls but some years do. Depends if you want Oxford itself or elsewhere in the county?

I would check out the finances of the Dragon and reviews on Mumsnet. They are servicing massive debts and I know numbers are dropping, which is leading to cuts across the board. The road is lovely, but you also have OHS and great boys schools in the same vicinity- so I would recommend looking there first.

It really depends where you want to live. Close to Oxford or around Abingdon does provide the most options and means you won’t spend your life driving all the time to school and back.

Within Oxford Magdalen or new college for ds and Headington or ohs for girls is an easy choice.

If you're happy being South Oxfordshire all three could go to Cranford all through or to Moulsford to y8 (Moulsford will prep well for Abingdon, Bradfield, Teddies, MCS or a myriad of others).
