Hi everyone, does anyone know if the waiting list usually still moves after all places have been allocated? Or is it unlikely at this stage?

Hi @NJRoad yes it can move anytime right up to the summer holiday. It does depend on which entry point you're going for but there are lots of reasons why parents may have to withdraw. Obviously, you need to have your plan B in place but it's not out of the ordinary. I would keep checking in with the Admissions team once a month or so to ask if there's been any movement and to let them know you're still super keen in taking a place - that way your name is in their mind should a place come up. Don't over do it though! You don't want to come across as being too pushy! Good luck!

Thank you so much. We’re on the bursary reserve list, so the chances might be quite small, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed.

@NJRoad Bursary reserve lists move differently from standard ones — schools sometimes hold bursary places longer than regular places because the financial assessment process takes time and families occasionally drop out late when their circumstances change. Worth asking admissions specifically whether there are any bursary reassessments still pending, rather than just asking about general movement. That question signals you understand how the process works and tends to get a more honest answer than a general enquiry. I post more on the boarding side of things at @boardingschoolguide if it helps.

Hi, thank you for your message.
I actually received an email from the school saying that all places have already been allocated and asking whether we would still like to remain on the bursary reserve list. I'm not entirely sure what that means in practice.
What confused me a little is that the school arranged a visit for my child just the day before we received that email, so I'm not sure how to interpret the situation.
Do you think this might mean there is still a possibility if a bursary place becomes available?
