What should and shouldn’t we ask?

I think they try to assess if family values are a good fit for the school ethos and culture, so I would try and align what you say to their ethos. Also try and demonstrate your enthusiasm for joining the school, if they see a family fits the school and is really keen to join, it helps them make an offer

@KimchiLaLa if send me a DM and I will explain what they will ask you and what you can ask them 😎

I reckon they want to know if you are going to be a difficult parent who complains all the time or if you will support the school.

Look at it from the school’s point of view - they are welcoming you into their community. They want to know you’ll be supportive and that your values are aligned with those of the school. Of course there are going to be points of disagreement during your child’s time there, but they’re looking for parents who will (at best) just trust them to get on with it or (at worst) will be able to have a reasoned and frank discussion.

A slight tension here. You may want to ask difficult questions of them in order to decide whether you want your child to join the school. However some Heads don’t like this and may weed you out.
