Brighton college for girls

Hi all - wondering if anyone has any experience of having a girl at BC ? I know historically it’s a boys school and I only know of families with boys who have gone there. Currently looking at Roedean and BC and trying to get a feel for them both.
Roedean seems very homely but BC just seems to be “next level”.
Wondering how integrated girls are in activities etc and if it can be overwhelming around a majority of boys ? TIA.

My nephew went there - healthy mix of boys and girls - he has made lifelong friends from the school - he left 12 years ago

OP I’m not sure where you’ve got the idea that there’s a majority of boys at BC, but there really isn’t (in fact there’s currently more girls on roll than boys). It’s been co-ed for decades & the girls are definitely integrated into activities. Have you been to look round?

It’s been fully mixed for years

My niece (and nephew) go there. It’s fully co-ed.

Thanks everyone- we have had a look and agree that there seems to be a good mix - we were just wondering whether there was any “bias” or whether there were more activities aimed at boys etc given it’s history!
I think that when I looked around I was expecting this and so it seemed that everywhere I looked there were boys showing us labs/ rooms / dining etc (despite our tour guide being a delightful girl!)

OP Brighton College has been admitting girls since 1973. The idea that there’s any sort of bias towards boys more than 50 years later is laughable. What activities do you think would only be aimed at boys?! It’s 2025!!
