Reward credit cards and payment of fees

DD is just about to start at an independent school. They accept credit cards for payment of fees, but not American Express.

Obviously lots of credit cards have rewards or cashback for purchases. But many say "eligible purchases". Wondering if anyone uses reward cards for payment of school fees and if so what you're using and if school fees have counted as "eligible purchases" for cashback.

It's either a cashback card or airline miles. Not sure which to choose atm.

To note we have the money to pay them, so will be instantly paying the card off each time. But if I can get a bonus for spending 15k+ a year all the better.

Eligible purchases will maybe mean not gambling websites, I'm sure I get points for paying the dentist which is similar. There will be something in the small print about what is not eligible

I think they generally exclude balance transfers and cash withdrawal.
I suspect you'll be ok on fees

This is a genius idea (!!)

Trying to think how to do it though... I presumed the bill comes as an invoice so only has bank transfer details or direct debit details on it?

Great idea - anyone care to share which cashback card they are going with?
