Surrey/SW London independents - Non religious Girls/Co-eds Seniors: mild Sen

I realise there have been similar threads before, but starting a fresh thread for up to date ideas on schools across Surrey/SW London, as I am keen to understand which schools are currently likely to accept DD with v mild Sen/v mild dyslexia and academically average. Keen on somewhere ideally she has access to a decent range of extra curriculars.

We are not catholic/religious, so prefer somewhere without religion at the centre.

Ideally somewhere that feels modern and future thinking.

Would love no 11+ test at all, or replaced with a CAT4 type assessment instead for entry.

A bit of a wish list, but here’s hoping!

Thank you!

If you are thinking of Epsom area then Kingswood or Ewell Castle might be good fits. Box Hill might be another one (although there is an entrance exam). ACS Cobham might also be a good fit (no entrance exams) and has amazing facilities.

The religious aspect is more difficult TBH. Most places seem to have some religous links.

Tormead - you will get a space in the senior (without 11 plus drama) if your in the prep school

Tormead looks great but I thought it was quite academic?

Slightly out of catchment but St George’s Ascot may tick your box. They have bus routes into SW London. It’s a smaller school so there is easy access to a wide range of activities and it is also is pretty forward thinking in its use of technology.

Sir William Perkins- it’s going co-ed from 2026 . They have new , faster bus routes from September 2025 that will cover SW London. They already extensively cover Surrey

Check out Liberty Woodland School - very future thinking!

Yes, but what year is she, sorry if I've missed that bit?

If she is joining into the prep school, support and value add is know to be excellent there, and they'll have her up to scratch for the seniors if given enough time. It's not pressured or a hot house either.

Worth a chat?

Not 100% sure about joining any school going co-ed from top to bottom at the moment, ust indicates an issue filling spaces.

Also - transition will be weird and numbers out of balance I would think to begin with.

No reflection on SWPS at all, as it was always a brilliant school and very well regarded locally - but the total move to co-ed seems like a necessity rather than a nicety....

Especilay when demand for Girls only education is still very popular, unlike boys only.

Sutton High School might be a good fit?

Agreed, I wouldn't choose a school that has suddenly gone co-ed. Suggests issues attracting pupils.
