Decodable readers (with links)

I have been asked a couple of threads to suggest some decodable readers so, rather than keep typing out a list I thought I would start a thread and just do the list once!

In no particular order:

Fold-it books and King Wizzit www.syntheticphonics.net

Jolly Readers www.jollylearning.co.uk

Read Write Inc readers www.ruthmiskinliteracy.com

Big Cat Phonics www.collinseducation.com

Sounds~Write Reading books www,sounds-write.co.uk

Rigby Star Phonics www.harcourt.co.uk

BRI www.piperbooks.co.uk

Jelly and Bean www.jellyandbean.co.uk

Dandelion Readers www.phonicbooks.co.uk

Oxford Reading Tree Songbirds and Floppy's Phonics www.ukcatalogue.oup.com (OUP also publish Ruth Miskin books)

The only ones on this list that I am familiar with (because I am secondary) are Jelly & Bean, which I really like, and BRI, which is a complete 'learn to read' scheme in itself, but can be used alongside a phonics programme.

I'm sure that some of these are obtainable in bookshops and you may find them cheap through Amazon.

Oh dear, really should proof read better. Please mentally supply the missing 'on' in the first sentence

I get my decodable readers from www.readingchest.co.uk. It's a book rental for reading scheme books and they have rigby phonics books, collins big cat phonics, floppy's phonics and yellow door phonics. They do have other schemes such as ORT but you can choose the schemes you want so you can have just phonics ones if you like. I now prefer it to buying books because I can change reading levels when I like.
