PTA fundraising. Anyone organised a bingo night?

Our PTA want to run a bingo night and some how I have been nominated to get the tickets etc

I just wondered if anyone on here has run one before and would know how many tickets I should buy and how many games we should do?

It is going to be combined with another event so it doesn't need to last all night, maybe half an hour or so.

Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks x

Hi, we run an easter egg bingo every year. We usually have three games of bingo, lasting about an hour and half in total (with a break in the middle).
We had about 100 people there. We bought a standard book of bingo tickets and we used most of them. We charged 20p per ticket or £1 a strip.

I hope that helps. If i think of anymore bits, I'll let you know.

We get through a book ( ie 12 games) in two hours, so you could work it from there. Most people buy 6 books each( this means that they have all the numbers somewhere!) and the children 1/2 depending on how much parents want to spend! We run a line and then a full house for each game, except for the "flyers" ( 6th and 12th games) which run line, 2 lines and a full house, so you would need to sort out prizes appropriately ( ours are all donatedby parents or PTFA so we don't have to buy any. We are a small school ( 50 families) but find that we have a full hall (80-100 people) as people from the village come too.

Costs!

We charge £3 for 6 books over the 12 games and obviously less if you only want a few ( I think it's 50p a book), we also run a raffle at the same time and manage to make around £300 a night

that's helpful thanks.we're planning on buying tickets for around 100 people. How many tickets should I buy? I'm getting confused when I look into it all!

Our parents are bingo fanatics, so we can easily get through 2-300 books a night ( for around 50-60 people including children!)As mentioned, the books we buy come in strips of 6 and most parents would buy a strip ( ie 6 books each) It would really depend on how fanatical your parents are! You can however use any left over on a further evening if it is a success.
