Hi

Have probably cover this before, but I can't seem to find the thread to this. Moving
and what to do about school. Will be moving to adjoining London borough but what to do about son's school! Got into a good primary school/reception but will be moving. Ideally would like to go to good school in new borough but in the real world all the ok/decent school have a long waiting list. Question is whether I can put name on waiting list while staying in the existing school even though we have moved out of the borough.

Much appreciate a reply from anyone in the same boat or been through it...

Yes you can do that. You don't have to give up the place at your son's existing school just because you've moved out of the borough. You are entitled to apply for any school you want at any time. If there are no places available and the school is operating a waiting list, you are entitled to a place on the waiting list. And you can go on as many waiting lists as you want. So there is absolutely nothing wrong with keeping your son at his current school and putting him on the waiting list for any schools you would be happy with near your new home.

Sorry for not being back sooner was away...but a big relieve. With the moving and everything it is one thing less to worry about. Many thanks for the feed back.
