Si I have Year Six at the moment and have had Year Six for about 10 years (not great professional development but I got stuck there because I get the results) anyway, now I want to move up the ladder and get some KS1 experience and the head hads FINALLY agreed to let me go to year 2 in September.
And now I'm really scared.
How different will it be?
Has anyone made this jump?

LOL at novels on post-it notes.

Hi, it's great in year 2 but slightly frustrating as you really do have to make sure the children listen and understand what needs to be done. They are very enthusiastic and willing and you can be really quite creative with them. I hope you enjoy it.

Let's say it is going to be very very different.

Great comments everyone!!!!
Can't wait. It will be a breath of fresh air. I am thrilled at the prospect of being in contact with very small children again- my own are now 8 and 11 so it will make home life easier- I won't feel like I am coming from work into work. And I miss that interest that they have in the things we all take for granted....wet, blue, fluffy, etc. Our early years has been graded good by ofsted so I am moving into a very supportive environment and there will be loads of help and a full training programe....was 20 years ago I was at college!!!
Can't wait to not worry about SATs, secondary transfer, active and passive verbs, ratio and proportion and working out missing angles in a triangle.
BRING IT ON!!!

What is the 'full training programe' you will get?

RustyBear · 13/07/2014 22:03

Hopefully she got it about 4 years ago....

NCFTTB · 14/07/2014 00:48

And she will still be worrying about Sats if she's in Y2!

I went from year 6 (after 5 years) to year 3. Drive me mad!!! Kids asking if they could start a new page in their reading books?! Haha. By the Xmas I was more used to it.

Gherkin - I totally love your Quiet Fox. I'm going to start using it at the office. Do you think it will work on adults??
