Well, i need website or any online place for printing out worksheets for primary education, reception year.
My daughter is very keen on writing phonics and spelling, sums etc... I always buy little books from supermarket but she is going through them too fast, and im running out of material.
Friend recommended me Bitesize, but the KS1 material to print out is one sheet of paper per title.
Someone must know please, help me.
TIA

why don't you get her to write and illustrate a story? then you could make it up into a little book = much more fun and educational than worksheets, and it's lovely having them to look back on when she's bigger

Thank you Teafortwo.
Mumsim, do you mean write and draw pictures? Sorry i must sound not bright Have got terrible headache.
DD is very keen on little phonic books we had from shops. Its like picture of cup and then CP, or picture of cube and cub, then CB and CB.
Or sums like 9-7=_ etc...
I wrote 2+_=5, snd she worked it out.
I think its great idea, but she is too eager to do the letters and sums, than making it herself, atm.
Even first reading books, she will read no problems, and when we ask what was story, she will just say "It was about children"
We disgussed it with teacher, and she said dd is exloring whole new world of reading, and at the moment, the story does not eman a lot to her, its all about just reading, putting letters together.
Just wanted encourage her, thats why i was after materials i can access over the internet.

Sparklebox is run by a convicted peadophile so you may want to avoid that one.

browny · 03/03/2010 12:44

Really? , that one was on my list from school too.

Try www.superteacherworksheets.com,

It's an American site, but there are loads of worksheets for all primary school ages.

annieshaf · 03/03/2010 12:59

Have you seen the jolly phonics workbooks. You can get them on amazon or in WHS. There is a series of 7 books and they are for practising reading and writing skills.

mimsum · 03/03/2010 13:04

yes, at first dd just used to draw pictures and tell me what they were about, then as she grew more confident she'd dictate a story to me which I'd write down for her, then she started writing stories for herself, so on each page she'd have a picture and a few words or maybe a sentence or two - sample titles from reception year were "The Camel, the Dog and the Baby", "The Three Little Butterflies" etc we're not talking great works of literature here

worksheets are OK, but they can't teach a child to be creative

browny · 03/03/2010 13:21

Diva, you're very welcome .

My ds2 (5.5) loves [[www.starfall.com}} atm, because he can drag and drop words, eg. labelling the body and then the word is spelt out then spoken.

Parentstalk.com

THK · 09/03/2010 17:59

Sparklebox news story

The site is now run by a relative - and makes a profit every time people visit it, ready for when he is released.

Hulababy · 09/03/2010 18:09

Following LEAs barring sparkle box on their servers they have recommended Primary Resources as an alternative.

Hardys · 09/03/2010 18:19

worksheetworks.com

sparkles28 · 09/03/2010 20:11

www.primaryresources.co.uk

gingernutlover · 09/03/2010 20:44

www.teachingideas.co.uk/

THK · 10/03/2010 16:01
