Our PTA is thinking of doing tea towels this year.

Do they sell? Do they make a profit?

Also, most importantly, where do you get them from?

we've used Lorna Wiles in the past, very good service, very friendly.

the more towels you order, the cheaper you buy them, so more profit

I think they cost around £1.60, and we sold them for £3.50, so decent profit margin

We did them last year...not sure how much money they made but we didn't lose money on them as we got people to pre-order. We did a deal if you bought three...think it was £2 each and 3 for a £5.
It's a cute memento of my son's first year in school so I bought a couple.
stuartmorris dot co dot uk made ours for us.

DD's old school sold those(with little pictures the children had done of themselves) and I bought 3 @£5 each and I'm incredibly tight sensible with my money so I think they are deffo a good seller. They make a nice present for grandparents too.

I have no idea where you get them though.

The new school did cotton shopping bags which were also very nice.

We did them for the first time at Christmas. They sold for £3.50 each and the school made a few hundred out of it. Not sure which company was used though.

All I can say is- I was the one to organise the "placing" of the drawings on the template. I did it with a friend over a bottle of wine.
When the teatowels were ready, we noticed we'd stuck a few children's drawings upside down....they still sold.

Our PTA did it before Christmas.
Children in school 65. Teatowels sold in 2 days 100. We're going fro a second print run!
(Cost was £1.75 to PTA, we sold for £3)
We used Art Screen Prints. Really helpful and very quick - the provide a kit to tell you exactly what to do.

Ahhh, I've still got the tea towel with dd's drawing on it from Reception (she's 13 now). And she's met up with some of those children again at secondary school- and their self portraits are all there on my tea towel

Yes, they sell - we made £600 quite easily. Sold them at £3.50 in December - but that was good timing as Christmas presents for Granny etc.

Can also recommend Art Screen Prints.
Make sure you have a master list of every child in the school and tick each one off as you stick their drawing down. One girl's mother had ordered 25 tea towels - and the girl was off sick the day they did the drawings. I had to track her down and stand over her till she drew .
