My DD will be going for the 4+ 'play group' asesssment at Haberdashers soon. Does anyone know what they are asked to do/what they are looking for? There is very little information given by the school. Many thanks

not hit other children and they're in (if you pay £££)

I wish it was that simple.

But on the basis they are nearly 10 times oversubscribed I think it may be more difficult then that.

Aren't there any tutors to teach them how to play (in the right way, that is)?

I am sure there are!

Thanks for that. I have seen it already. It went off the question asked quite quickly though. Still the most useful thread around so thanks.

The kids need to be pushy and determined but polite i.e. pester a child for a toy they want persistantly but with good manners.

They need to stare at the book corner longingly now and then. They need to use all toys appropriately but show some imaginative thought i.e. put a bowl on their head and ask if you like their helmet. They need to show they can move i.e. not sit in the same spot with the same toy the whole time.

They need to do as they're told quickly.

god, how hideous. pushy but polite. that's the current ruling classes for you.

Reading starlight's post; why?

I used to play lacrosse with Haberdashers' lot, I recall they were rather pushy and persistant, is that the point?

StarlightWonderStarlightBright · 04/01/2010 03:18

LOL, - nothing to do with me. Tis my DH wot told me all that. He did education posh-style.

Apparently it's all 'Would you mind giving me that toy car old chap so that I don't have to embarass you in front of your friends by telling them of your fathers mistress. Thank you most kindly. It wouldn't do to cause a scene now would it?'

Yes, - you need to sack your staff with a kindly smile aparently!
