Ofsted Report for DD's Primary published today, is Inadequate. What now?

I have been dissatisfied with DD's school for a while for varying reasons, mainly due to her not achieving her potential. The ofsted inspection was published today and it is pretty shit and the school is now in Special Measures. This is a good thing though, right? Things will be done now, I assume?

DD has just started year 3 and it was her teacher that was off sick most of last year (read between the lines).

Ofsted Report

It is a 'lovely' school which comes across in the report and one of the reasons we chose to walk past 4 others to get to this one.

Any comments or advice?

Admission

Yes, I agree that RAISEonline can be a very useful tool for schools to track individual students progress.

However, the RAISEOnline Full report specifically reports on the overall school performance, as opposed to individual students performance; this specific report is therefore largely unaffected by data protection legislation. OFSTED itself alludes to this on the website - and remember, OFSTED must comply with data protection legislation over an inspection.

Anyway, my substantive point is that the RAISEOnline full report is a very useful document to review if you are interested in understanding the performance of a school. My experience is that some headteachers are loathe to release it, which tells its own story to me.

So exercise your rights under Freedom of Information Access legislation. Request a copy of the report directly from schools.

This report is free, informative and very useful to parents.
