Primary child off sick: whould you expet homework home from the teacher?

I am wondering what the norm is here in the UK. DD (year 2) is sick today. We have just gotten to the stage in school where homework is sent home, and she is tested on her knowledge (spelling and math) weekly. Should I expect her teacher to send home whatever she misses in class today? Or will she just miss it and that's it?

I'm sure when I was a child anything that had been turned in even if done in class would be sent home for me to complete there. But, then I didn't get homework when I was 6 and I lived in another country. So I'm not sure what to expect as reasonable.

If I were feeling like a very attentive Mummy I might ask for the spellings when she gets back. This is because they often have spellings based on a rule or sound, and if she'd missed a week it could be a problem.

In all likelyhood I'd forget to actually ask though....

We set homework (incl spellings) on a Friday, to be handed in the following Wednesday. If a child is away that day, I would expect them to take it home on their return on the Monday. If they return on the Tuesday, I'd scrub the homework task (unless the parent was particularly keen for them to do it still) but send the spellings home for them to at least have a go at for the test on Wednesday.
But that's Year 5. Year 2, she's ill. Let her rest.

We have the same schedule: homework home on Friday and back on Wednesday. Spelling and Math tests first thing Thursday am. She is not all that unwell. She has a urinary tract infection. She is up and about and generally feeling okay, but she does need frequent acess to the toilet which her teacher is not giving her so I kept her home today. We got antibiotics last night and I expect them to kick in by tomorrow (we are accustomed to this routine and they usually kick in in a day or so). But, she is well enough to do a bit of studying. A bit as in bits and pieces throughout the day. I don't mean an all day cram session.

But, really, I want to know what is reasonable to expect of the teacher. If she were off for a week (which is not unlikely with this bloody recurring uti), would the teacher send work home or would DD just fall behind?
