What are Occasional Days and Take Over Days?

I am new to the whole "school" thing and just had our dates for the year - I vaguely understand the concept of Inset Days and realise that ds won't be in school then. But what about Occasional and Take Over Days? Can someone please enlighten me as to what they are and whether ds is in school then!

Sorry I've never heard of them - I think they may be something unique to your school, so you'll need to ask them what it means. They should really be telling you that without you having to ask...

I will check when I pick up this evening .. just wondered whether they were common terms. I am guessing it is yet another couple of days when I need to find childcare! grrrrr

I think that Take Over Days are when the children plan their own learning for a day, so they will be in school but doing different things. And I think that Occasional Days is a blanket heading for "closed days other than school holidays" so would cover both inset days and closures for other reasons (e.g. school being used as a polling station), so they wouldn't be in school. But I'm not sure.
