We have Educationcity - it's bit like using worksheets only dd enjoys it more - good for consolidation.

I mostly try to play games - Orchard have some good Maths ones. Magic Cauldron. Tell the time. Dice - throw 2 or three and then add the scores or double them.

Foam Can Alley Cans numbered 1- 10, add up the number you knock over each time.

Cooking - fractions, volume, weight estimations, time, shapes, reading large numbers etc and with the edible bonus at the end.

Play shops, restaurants etc for use with money.

I use workbooks to give me ideas as to which part of the curriculum I need to reinforce next - a bit like a textbook for me.

It really is making a difference to my dd's confidence and attitude to Maths.

The books should be at the correct level for the key stage. You should have a parents evening in the next month or two, we had one at the start and end of each year. You can ask what on earth these tests were for.
