NC Levels 2B in Y2 + 4B in Y6 - average or the minimum required?

iyswim. Is it really about 50% of dcs who get those scores nationally? Does anyone have the data?

4B is about average but I can't stand the way England have SATS league tables ect I just think you shoul encourage children to be individuals and I believe that too much emphasis is on children doing well in exams to prove themsesles sorry rant over

Level 4 is the expected level, and around 78-80% of 11 years olds achieve level 4 or above in each subject, though only about 60% achieve Level 4 in all the subjects. I'm not sure if there are published figures for percentages for 4a, 4b & 4c etc.

2B in Y2 is the average level, if they get a 3 in Y2 it doesn't break down as 3a,3b or 3c but would in the juniors. (a is higher the b then c). The level they achieve in Y2 affects the predicted level for Y6 so 2b at Y2 would predict 4b in Y6, 3 in y2 would predict 5 in Y6 etc. all the data is on the DCSF website - though not very exciting!

In my school 86% achieved level 4 or higher in Y6 in English and Maths and 100% achieved level 4 or higher in Science.

Thanks. When they say a certain % 'achieved Level 4' or 'achieved Level 2' on the news, does that definitely mean 4B/2B then?

No - it would be level 4c or higher, and usually 2c or higher.
