Teachers can you tell me how you would feel about a French boy coming into your class for a day?

We live in France, have 2 DS, brought up bilingually.

A colleague of mine in a similar situation mentioned she took her two girls to England a few times in July and they went to school for a couple of weeks there.

This was 20 or so years ago, I'm not so sure schools would accept this now?

Would love for DS1 (nearly 5, has been in school for 2 yrs now) to go to an English school for a couple of days, or more in the future.

It would be great for his English language etc.

Do you think school policy could allow for this - maybe as a kind of "exchange student" or something?

I could maybe go in and do a bit of French?

Just throwing out ideas really...

you'd have to negotiate this with the school you had in mind, would help if you knew someone on staff, or at least a family that attended there. good idea, but schools have so much on their plate it might come across as a hassle.

I was thinking of a school where a friend's DD goes (same age).

Wasn't sure if schools would see it as a hassle or a plus!

Yes you'd need to negotiate it but I think that most schools would treat it as an exciting opportunity, especially if you offered some French lessons, maybe some French food etc. And French pastries for the teachers at break time!

Good tip Janeite!

Would also depend on the school having space in the class. If it is at its 30 limit it may not be possible.

One of the girls in my class has a friend from Sweden who came for the morning, but the girl from the class) had to stay with her - they said something to do with insurance/H&S type stuff.

I took my own DD one day earlier this year as her school was closed and I couldn't get childcare. Again it was fine but I had to be wholly responsible for her esp regards H&S and insurance purposes.
