When's bedtime for your Y5, just 10 year old?!

DS1's is a bit variable! BUT I am finding the oh-so-nice children of the local-oh-so-responsible parents seem to let their kids knock on MY door at 8.30pm of a Sunday evening asking if DS1 can come out to play- and I say- Um he's in the BATH. He'll be in BED in half an hour!!

dd1 is nearly 10 and is in her room at 7:30ish. She then potters about and/or reads until 9 or so - sometimes longer I guess, she has problems getting to sleep sometimes.
We've also always had the problem of other children turning up to play when ours are already in bed...

DD is 10 and goes up at 8 though she is allowed to read until 9pm, on saturday she still does at 8 but can watch a dvd til half 9/10

DD is 9.5 - she goes to her room about 7.30 and tends to read and do something quietly like drawing for a while. Probably asleep by 8.30 at the latest on a school night.

usually - winter/spring/autumn - 8.00
summer - 9.00

DD (10) starts getting ready for bed about 7 ish, bath, teeth etc and is then usually in her room from 7.30 - 8ish. She's usually asleep by 8.30/9

My Y5 DD1 (nearer 11 than 10 now) has a shower at about 1930, then goes up to read or colour or whatever until 2030. On weekends she is allowed to watch a DVD or read until about 2100-2130.

Dd (10 in August) goes up at 7.30 ready for bed and dad reads a story until about 8.15 then it is lights out usually asleep by 8:30. The same at the weekend.

main summer school holidays will be later probably 9 - 9:30 but that is still to be negotiated between us as parents!!!!

Rest of holidays the same as school nights - she and Ds (8) both get up between 6 - 7 in the morning no matter what is happen

ds1 is in his room between 7.45 and 8.30 most nights. he will read up there for ages though after that.

Mine goes in the bath about 8.30, lights out at 9.15 latest (since this is the same time as her sister at boarding school in Year 7!) She wakes between 6.30 and 7.15 usually but has a blackout blind in her room which is very effective. We leave home at 7.40am so I often have to wake her about 7, but we don't get home til 6ish, later if she has gym or dance, so couldn't possibly be in bed by 7.30!

Thanks everyone! I thought I was being a bit pfb about the 9pm absolute latest lights out, preferably nearer 8.30pm! We also can't make it much earlier cos I get in from work at 6.20pm 2 nights a week as it is. DS2 is just 8 and I try and get his light out at 8pm. They're both early risers- 6.15ish so I really can't let them stay up any later. We had a serious behaviour melt down as it is when bedtime for DS1 was creeping later as a result of the chaos of a house move. Learned my lesson!

dd1 is nearly 9 and is in year 4. Her lights are meant to be off by 8pm, although it is often 8:30. She has to go upstairs by 7pm or 7:30 on a Tuesday (because of brownies). She thinks that this is totally unreasonable

ds who is 10 is sent upstairs 8 to 8:15 and he will read or I read to him or both and he falls asleep 9 p.m approx. Its a bit of a challenge at mo cause it is so light so he is falling asleep more like 9:30. Holiday time i am much more easy going as he loves to watch Match of the Day with his Dad or one of the matches. Ds says his friends dont go to bed till 9 or 10 and that they don't sleep till much later cause they are playing with their PSPs etc. He thinks I am a bit evil cause I make sure his is downstairs .

Lights out for DS, age9, at 9-9:30pm.
I often find him awake & reading again by 7:15am.
