Typing tutor or toy computer for 6 year old

Anyone know of a good one? Preferably looking for one of these toy ones but am I better off with a cd-rom?
We have the Garfield one but it accelerates too quickly and DD gets frustrated with it.
Just think it would be a useful skill for her to learn & if she can learn it NOT on my laptop that's all the better for me.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I use Vtech Smile system with an attachable keyboard ('smart keys') which teaches typing skills and basic email in play format. He loves it!

6y DD does touch type at school on the computer as part of her ICT lessons. I can try and find out which program they use tomorrow.

Ooh, just seen a Vtech computer that hooks up to the tv (not the v-smile the other one), that might be worth a closer look!

BBC schools website has a tough typing tutor - has a fun element too. DS uses it at school - can access it at home too, and DS has chosen to practice at home.

I know this is an old thread, but I'd recommend having a look on fleabay for an Asus ee pc, which is a dinky little real laptop. It includes some excellent programs for kids and it is possible with a bit of effort to add new ones. The typing program is Tux Typing by the same person who did excellent Tux Paint (Google it for more info)

Note - this is a proper computer - but it happens to run the Linux operating system by default. However, you won't really notice a difference in practice, other than being surprised how easy it is to use.

The only downside is that the screen on the early eee pcs is a bit small for watching YouTube vids.

It wont teach touch typing, and the keys are a bit small for an adult. My five year old uses his regularly, keeping me company when working, and the three year old can play some of the games with a bit of help.
