What is the distance round a rectangle? If one side is 40mm and another is 20mm.

My Ds says its 120mm

I'm suppose to mark his answers, but can't remember if you have to multiply or add?

Come to think of it, he might be right - a rectangle has 2 sets of equal sides, so 40 + 40 + 20 + 20 = 120.

What do you think?

Thanks

PrettyCandles · 01/02/2009 20:13

correct

bigTillyMint · 01/02/2009 20:13

Yes 120 is right!

How come you have to maek it - I thought that was the teacher's job?!

melissa75 · 01/02/2009 20:14

yup, 120 is right!

yep, parents have to mark homework or timetables cards which are not compulsory.

I didn't ask the teacher for it btw. They are given out, so parents can work with their children at home.

I think those who are confident with their tables are given these awful cards to do at home.

Hee Hee, that teacher's got it sussed - getting the parents to do their job

Ours have to learn their tables for weekly tests in school which the teachers mark and send home so you can see how they did.

Creole · 01/02/2009 20:36

yep, we have weekly tables tests as well, but it's the parents job to make sure the kids learn their tables prior to the tests.
