How about Elvis? You could just paint on some sideburns (eye make-up), quiff the hair and add some sunglasses - voila!

Yep thats a good idea - think its supposed to be more history based though.. hmmmm

How about someone Roman - Emperor Claudius or Julius Caesar?

You'd just need a white sheet - drape in some vaguely toga-ish way and make some kind of head dress - green card band with cut out green card leaves - plus sword, sandals and red cloak type thing if poss!

aandme - you may be surprised to know that Elvis is actually history - the KS2 history unit 'How has life in Britain changed since 1948?' is designed to "develop historical understanding of the period, including the characteristic features and diversity of popular culture"

aandme · 01/02/2009 15:34

yep but they are doing 16th and 17th century at the mo!

Roman sounds good - but possibly not if you have snow forecast for Tuesday!

You can make a simple boy's Tudor costume with plain white long sleeved shirt, a sleeveless waistcoat or a body warmer and cut down trousers at the knee or tucked into long socks. You can add your own touches like card buckles on the shoes, and tracksuit bottoms look more like cloth breeches than school trousers. Early tudor men wore soft caps, later on, higher crowned hats were worn - the kind of thing Guy Fawkes is usually shown wearing.

loobeylou · 01/02/2009 16:24

to add to tudor costume idea above, "fan" 3 sheets of white A4 paper and staple to cuffs and neck to give a ruff effect for a richer tudor

great ideas - thanks
