Hurray for DD's music teacher!

Our school has recently started offering music lessons. Subsidised apparently but still a bit pricey. DS#1 wants to start drum lessons at his secondary so we told DD that she couldn't have lesson whilst she was still riding regularly . She had a ukelele for Christmas and a 'learn to play' book and I've been doing my best to help (my best isn't great ).

But the music teacher at the school who plays guitar and various other instruments was so interested in DD's uke that she is going to teach herself to play it and teach DD into the bargain.

Aw that's nice!

Brilliant!

A boy at ds's Cubs pack plays the ukelele and he is always a great hit with all the parents at the performance evenings.

Am liking your dd's originality in wanting a uke!

ukes are very in, you know. The teacher probably wants to gain a bit of uke cred too

I was a bit surprised too hippo. But it was all she really wanted. As DS#1 wanted an X-box 360 and DS#2 covetted a huge dragon puppet in a nearby shop, I was delighted that someone wanted something reasonable cheap . It has the sort of sound that just makes you smile.

Blimey! Are they 'in' pointy? That would explain why the music shop had so many. There was I thinking I was asking for something obscure

oh yes, very in, orm. This month's copy of Acoustic has a huge feature on them. I have been teaching m,yself teh ukulele (irregularly) for the past year now. I am so on trend I've got grooves in my feet.

Not only is DD getting free uke 'lessons' at her primary, but have just found out that DS#1's shared drum lessons only have 2 pupils (DS and a.n.other). I'm paying half as much as for individual tuition.

Doing well
