DS2 brought home a sweet note today, but I'm wondering if I should show the teacher?

They're in yr1

It said:

"tanc you DS2 becos you are not naste" and has a little drawing of the two of them.

Not spelt correctly, but clearly understood. Obviously I'm pleased that DS2 is not nasty, but I do find it a bit upsetting that a 5 yo thinks this is a quality worth thanking a classmate for.

It was delivered with the Christmas cards, but on plain paper, as I think this is a family who do not celebrate Christmas.

why would you show the teacher? are you paranoid/concerned about said child?

dizzyjingles · 16/12/2008 23:08

oh thats so sad poor wee soul having to thank someone for not being nasty

I just thought it sounds like the little lad could be unhappy at school and/or being picked on and wondered if the teacher was aware.

I don't know him and he's not someone DS2 counts as one of his friends.

Not sure why you feel the need to show the teacher?

Maybe the child in question had had a bit of a fall out and your ds had stuck up for him? Maybe it was the child's way of saying that your ds is nice, and the only way they could think of expressing it was to say 'not nasty'?

Could be something and nothing? Why don't you ask your ds ...

Anyway, be proud you have a lovely ds
