Is it normal for the head of a primary school to have read ds's (in nursery class) file or would there be a special reason?

Being a bit paranoid but the headmistress said she'd read ds's file and I wondered if that is normal - is she super-attentive and reads every child's file or would she have been reviewing it for a reason e.g. they had a particular concern?

what was the context of the conversation?

She was showing me round the main school and I was asking her about how they deal with individual differences.

Sorry to clarify I was giving her examples of where ds was strong and weak in development and she said 'yes I've read his file'.

In that case I would think she probably read his file as a preparation for meeting you and showing you round the school.

They have to read all the new reception classes files. Would you even send your child to a school where the head didnt give enough of stuff to read it?

I would expect the Head to have read them all and taught the class.

Wow that's impressive that she's read it then as ds is actually only in the nursery class and not reception.

Actually Meemar I don't think it can be that as she didn't twig that I had a child in the nursery class already until I mentioned his name.
