...as I hold back the tears of pride.

Her teacher would like her to take her topic work to show the head.

This project has REALLY grasped her attention. She has been coming home and 100% off her own back doing extra research from the library and online. She has written an extra 3 pages for her book (on top of only done at school). Her layout is interesting and breaks away from a standard paragraph of writing then a picture. She has done little "did you know" style boxes you get in some encyclopaedias. It just looks so imaginative...and she really has put the effort in.

Am I allowed to be a proud mummmy?

Of course - well done to your DD

TurkeyLurkey · 02/12/2008 22:05

Good for her! You have every right to be proud. Who does she take after by the way? I know my DH would be claiming all the credit!

blametheparents · 02/12/2008 22:05

Awww, well done. What was the topic about?

Cupofteaplease · 02/12/2008 22:05

Ah, well done! Keep up the good work! Sometimes it takes one subject to inspire a child, and they become hooked on learning- I was always doing extra work as a child!!x

It was about the Romans. and I shouldhave said 5 pages done at school...so 3 extra is quite a lot IYSWIM.

She takes after me as far as wanting to learn is concerned....except I hated history.

DTD2 has also been grabbed by the subject - she has done the extra "research" sohe is just too lazy to want to write about it ...but that is absolutely fine too as no-one asked her to write about it...

My DS is in Y3 and is doing the Romans. He loves it too. Must be a great topic for them. I know my DS is always 'engaged' by the History topics that are covered.
Hope your DD had a good meeting with the Head.
