Please could someone point me in the direction of a website that might have some pencil grips to help a hypermobile 6 yr old? preferably pink or covered in Hannah Montana! Thanks

Early Learning Centre sell them I think. Dunno about Hannah Montana varieties though.

BuckwheatPillow · 02/12/2008 19:20

Aww, they still do these? I had a teal green one. Sorry no idea where you get them though! Try ebay though, if they exist (Hannah M ones) they'll be there!

My ds' OT has given me some much better ones than the normal triangular grips. I'll see if I can find them.

ComeOVeneer · 02/12/2008 19:23

whsmith sell them. Not sure about online though.

dramaqueen · 02/12/2008 19:25

I think these are the ones here. They are excellent. My ds is also hypermobile.

Dramaqueen - thanks! . Those are excellent and just what I am looking for, but thanks to everyone for answers so fast (but the Hannah Montana bit was my attempt at a joke beccause i have just come from a parents meeting where my pretty damn bright dc4 has been getting a hard time for hypermobility, which she can't help! Ah well....

Oh yes I know that one - the teacher told my ds he needed to improve his handwriting the other day. err that's why it's on his IEP.

SalVolatile · 02/12/2008 20:12

Dramaqueen, what is an IEP and do you mind me asking how old your ds is?

An IEP is an individual education plan. Your child's SENCO should do one with targets. I am assuming that your dd needs some sort of help at school, even if it's just for handwriting. My ds has dyspraxia and is hypermobile. He needs help with writing, co-ordination, socialising, spatial awareness and so on.

Why don't you post in special needs section? I am sure there are people on that board who can answer your questions far better than I can .

Sorry, that sounds as if I don't want to help, but we have only just begun on this "journey" of trying to get support in place, so I don't feel particularly well qualified!!

Woolies have the pencils with them already on- grey and colouring pencils.
