DD had reception parents evening, all was fab, still is as far as im aware, teacher briefly has a quick chat.

But as she's 5 now and everyone seems to know a lot more than i do on here about what their children are 'up to' level wise at school, what should i now be asking about?

I know her reading levels and we do spellings, wordsearches, explanations of books and draw pictures at home for homework, but what else would i need to know?

Also am v.unhappy over things happening recently in school, nothing to do with dd's class, more the head and the lack of communication since summer term began (whole school not just dd's year changed?)..should i bring it up with dd's teacher?

If it was school policy stuff that's changed I would ask to speak the the deputy head or the head to have it clarfied, or the school manager. Poor teacher probably can't do much but pass a message on!
I would probably ask about how she is settling into the new year, YR1 is a big change for them really. And I would want to see how she was socially. You sound like you know where she is up to academically so just check if your view and the teachers marries up!
